Commonly Asked Questions
Employers can setup their company 401(k) plan no later than December 31st of any calendar year.
If you want to setup a safe harbor matching 401(k) plan in the current year, you will want to do so no later than August 31st.
If you want to setup a safe harbor non-elective 401(k) plan you have until November 30th of any calendar year.Under our plan document, employees can do a combination of pre-tax and Roth (after-tax) contributions to their 401(k) plan not to exceed the 402(g) limit in any given year. These amounts may be adjusted annually by the IRS.
Through our 401(k) partners, employers can give their employees a broad range of investments to choose from including mutual funds, brokerage accounts, and managed account programs. As the investment fiduciary, we recommend employers work with their financial advisors to choose an investments menu suitable for their employees level of investment sophistication.
